A Bridgewater resident has been arrested and charged with vandalizing property at Bridgewater State University (BSU) by affixing neo-Nazi propaganda stickers, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office. Michael Beaudry, 32, pleaded not guilty on Monday, March 10, to charges of vandalizing property and tagging property in Brockton District Court.
The investigation began on March 3 when BSU Police discovered neo-Nazi stickers placed on a bus stop and other locations near Railroad Drive and the Spring Street parking lot, both properties owned by the university. Surveillance footage from March 1 showed a distinct white pickup truck arriving at the scene. The driver, later identified as Beaudry, was seen exiting the vehicle, placing stickers on the plexiglass of the bus stop, photographing them, and performing a Nazi salute before leaving.
On March 7, authorities executed a search warrant on Beaudry’s truck, uncovering various antisemitic and white nationalist stickers. At the time of his arrest, Beaudry was wearing clothing matching that seen in the surveillance footage and was in possession of a Hitler Youth knife bearing a swastika on the handle.
Prosecutors requested a $50,000 bail with conditions including GPS monitoring, a stay-away order from BSU, and the surrender of all firearms. Judge Michael Vitali set bail at $2,500, adopting the proposed conditions. Beaudry is scheduled to appear in court again on April 1.
This incident has raised concerns within the university community about the presence of hate symbols on campus. BSU officials have reiterated their commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and are cooperating fully with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation.
