A damning new video released by Betar Worldwide has laid bare the absurdity of Neturei Karta members who join pro‑Palestinian demonstrations every Saturday, brazenly breaking Shabbat with cameras, microphones, and interviews. These so‑called “Jews” — Jews by name only, as Betar labels them — couldn’t even answer simple questions about Jewish prayer or explain why they flagrantly violate the very laws they claim to uphold.
In footage filmed at Rockefeller Center, a protester wearing traditional Neturei Karta garb is asked to recite the Shema, Judaism’s central declaration of faith. The individual fumbles, unable to utter the most basic words of the prayer. When pressed on why he carries recording equipment on Shabbat, he shrugs, admitting he “doesn’t see the issue.”
These embarrassing gaffes expose the Neturei Karta’s charade: they exploit their Jewish identity to lend false legitimacy to anti‑Israel rallies, while in reality, they adhere to a cult‑like doctrine divorced from mainstream Judaism. Pro‑Palestinian organizers seize on these token Jewish faces to claim broad Jewish support for their movement, but Betar’s video reveals the truth: Neturei Karta members are neither representative nor knowledgeable.
“Real Judaism doesn’t look like this,” said a member of Betar Worldwide. “These individuals have abandoned the faith’s core tenets in favor of a political stunt. Their presence at protests is a betrayal of Jewish law and of the Jewish people.”
By masquerading as devout Jews, Neturei Karta provides cover for extremist rhetoric, all while demonstrating contempt for the traditions they claim to defend. As their confusion over the Shema and Shabbat laws makes clear, they are unfit to speak for Jews or to represent Judaism on the public stage.
