BB Camp Board Moves Swiftly, Appoints Two Veteran Alumni To Lead 2025 Season After Brodovsky Departure

In a decisive response following the dismissal of Jacob Brodovsky, the BB Camp Board of Directors today announced the hiring of two lifelong campers, Sarah Gould and Aliza Millo, to co-lead the 2025 summer season. The board, acknowledging the stress and uncertainty that rippled through the community, emphasized that these appointments will ensure a summer of strength, solidarity, and unwavering commitment to Jewish and Zionist traditions.

Sarah Gould returns to Town Island as Co-Camp Director of Wilderness and Operations, bringing decades of BB Camp experience as camper, counselor, canoe instructor, and AC out-tripper. A recognized advocate for Israel and campus-based Jewish life, Gould helped expand Camp Hatikvah’s wilderness program in British Columbia and played a pivotal role in securing Town Island’s protected-area status with the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Her rich background in anthropology, international development, and community organizing, alongside her intimate knowledge of Lake of the Woods, positions her to safeguard both the camp’s outdoor heritage and its core Jewish values.

Aliza Millo joins as Co-Camp Director of Programs, blending ten years of classroom leadership at Toronto’s Heschel School with deep roots at BB Camp. A certified Jewish educator and former section head and LTP coordinator, Millo has championed social justice, environmental stewardship, and tikkun olam in her teaching career. Since returning to Winnipeg, she has fostered outdoor education partnerships at St. John’s-Ravenscourt School and spearheaded student-led fundraising for teens living with cancer. Millo’s passion for nurturing meaningful relationships with campers and families will reinforce BB Camp’s sense of belonging and pride in Jewish identity.

Families can expect further communications as the new leadership team collaborates with returning staff to finalize program details. Inquiries may be directed to info@bbcamp.ca.

Editor’s note: Sarah and Aliza bring unparalleled passion for BB Camp, paired with professional excellence in education, advocacy, and outdoor leadership. Their shared vision promises a summer filled with deep Jewish connection, Zionist pride, and unforgettable wilderness adventures, ensuring that BB Camp’s proud legacy continues to thrive.
