B’nai Brith Canada has sounded the alarm after exposing a public Discord server used by Quebec medical school applicants and students that devolved into an open cesspool of antisemitism, racism, misogyny, and hate. For months, aspiring doctors, by name, not anonymously, posted Holocaust denial, praised the Nazi “Final Solution,” hurled racial slurs, glorified terrorism, and degraded women in open channels visible to more than 1,400 members. Almost no one spoke up.
These are not fringe trolls; they are the future of Canadian healthcare. The hate on display was not hidden but normalized, raising chilling concerns about what these individuals will bring into classrooms, clinics, and operating rooms. As B’nai Brith warns, “This kind of hate doesn’t stay online. It follows them into classrooms, clinics, and operating rooms. Silence enables this rot to spread. Institutions must act now.”
The exposure comes as Quebec and Canada as a whole are grappling with a surge in antisemitic incidents, including firebombings of synagogues and schools, and a dramatic rise in hate crimes. The Jewish community is demanding immediate action from medical schools, licensing bodies, and the government to root out this poison before it infects the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Hate like this has no place in medicine or Canadian society. Institutions must act decisively to ensure that those entrusted with the care of others are held to the highest moral and ethical standards.
