Lauren Kovac is not just running a half marathon this spring, she’s running for Israel, for hope, and for life itself. Under the banner “Running for Life,” Kovac has launched a bold fundraising campaign for Magen David Adom (MDA) Canada, Israel’s national emergency medical service, in direct response to the horrors unleashed on October 7 and the ongoing suffering of Israeli victims and hostages.
Kovac’s journey began as a deeply personal one: a year and a half spent reclaiming her health, both physically and emotionally. But the shockwaves from October 7 transformed her mission. “Since October 7, our hearts and minds have been with the victims and hostages whose lives were shattered in Israel,” she writes.
“I carry their stories with me every time I lace up my shoes. I run for those who can’t. For those still waiting to come home. For those whose lives were cut short. For the families who now live with unimaginable loss.”
Her campaign is more than symbolic. Every dollar Kovac raises goes directly to Magen David Adom Canada, helping to fund ambulances, blood supplies, and the lifesaving work of thousands of Israeli professionals and volunteers who risk everything to protect their fellow citizens. In a time of unprecedented need, MDA stands as the shield of the Jewish people, and Kovac is determined to ensure that shield never falters.
For Kovac and her supporters, this is a race against time, a race for survival, dignity, and the value of every Jewish life. “This cause means a great deal to me, not only because of the lives it touches daily, but because it represents strength, resilience, and the value of every single life,” she declares. Her message to the community is clear: “Let’s run this race together, in support, in solidarity, and hope.”
In an era when Israel’s enemies seek to destroy and demoralize, Lauren Kovac’s “Running for Life” campaign is a powerful declaration: we will not be broken, and we will never stop fighting for our people. Every step, every dollar, every act of solidarity brings us closer to a safer, stronger Israel.
