Honoured by the City, Inciting Against It

The City of Winnipegโs decision to present its prestigious Mayorโs BIZ Award to Ramsey Zeid, president of the Canadian Palestinian Association of Manitoba (CPAM), has erupted into a scandal. Within days of receiving this civic honour, Zeid used CPAMโs official social media accounts to share a chilling video from โmetamofysis,โ a video that explicitly calls for violent, coordinated โintifadaโ against Jews, Israel, and Canadian institutions.
The content of this video is not merely inflammatory, it is an outright manifesto of hate and a blueprint for violence. โmetamofysisโ declares that โa new world order has begun,โ and characterizes Zionists as โdemonicโ and Israel as a โterrorist foreign entity,โ invoking classic antisemitic conspiracy theories about Jewish global influence. The video goes far beyond rhetoric, urging followers to abandon peaceful protest and instead embrace โnon-peaceful revolutions,โ stating, โThere is no rule that says revolutions need to be peaceful. In fact, non-peaceful revolutions are often required.โ
It specifically calls for sabotage and direct action, instructing viewers to โhinder the entrances to city halls, municipal buildings, create obstacles, and direct sabotage into the manufacturing and supply, and logistic chains of these corporationsโฆ tied to the Zionist settler colonial dual nationality invaders.โ The video ends with a chilling ultimatum: โThere is no solution but intifada revolution. Intifada until liberation, or we scorch the earth.โ

What makes this situation even more alarming is the influence wielded by Ramsey Zeid as both CPAM president and a recent recipient of public honours. By sharing this video on CPAMโs official platforms, Zeid is not only legitimizing but actively amplifying a call for violence and coordinated attacks, directly targeting Canada, its Jewish community, and its institutions. His endorsement gives the video credibility and reach, potentially mobilizing followers and members of his organization toward real-world acts of disruption, sabotage, and terror.
This is not a theoretical threat. The word โintifadaโ is not an abstract slogan; for many Jews, it is synonymous with suicide bombings, shootings, and years of bloodshed that claimed thousands of innocent lives. The videoโs explicit call for โsquadsโ of โnon-peaceful disruptorsโ to operate in โevery country, every stateโ is a direct incitement to organized violence. When someone with Zeidโs platform and recent civic recognition shares such content, it sends a message to his followers that these actions are not only justified but expected, and that the city itself, by honouring Zeid, is indifferent to the danger.
Jewish Community: โThis Is a Betrayal and a Threatโ
Jewish and pro-Israel leaders in Winnipeg are appalled and frightened. โThis is not activism. This is a direct incitement to violence against Jews and Canadians,โ said one community advocate. โTo see a city-honoured figure use his platform to promote a video that calls for sabotage of city halls, municipal buildings, and supply chains, and that glorifies violent โintifadaโ, it is both a betrayal and a threat to every Jewish family in Manitoba.โ
Zeidโs record is well-known: he has repeatedly spread anti-Israel propaganda, glorified terrorist groups, and allowed CPAM rallies to become breeding grounds for antisemitism. But this latest act, amplifying a call for global, violent revolution targeting Canada, crosses a line that no civic leader or recipient of public honours should ever cross.
City Leaders Must Respond

The timing could not be more damning. While Mayor Scott Gillingham and Councilman Marcus Chambers praised Zeid for his โcommunity-building,โ Zeid was using his newfound legitimacy to promote a video that demonizes Jews, equates Zionism with Nazism, and urges followers to โscorch the earthโ in Canada and beyond.
What message does this send to Winnipegโs Jewish community? That their safety is negotiable? That their fears are irrelevant? That the city is willing to honour those who incite violence against them?
A Call for Accountability
Winnipegโs Jewish community demands immediate action:
- The Mayorโs office must publicly rescind the BIZ Award given to Ramsey Zeid.
- City leaders must condemn the incitement of violence and hate against Jews and Canadians.
- Social media platforms must remove the video and ban accounts that promote terror and sabotage.
This is not a matter of free speech or โdifferent perspectives.โ This is about the safety of Canadians, the dignity of our Jewish community, and the integrity of our civic institutions.
To hold Mayor Scott Gillingham and the City of Winnipeg accountable for awarding Ramsey Zeid, whose history includes antisemitic rhetoric and support for terror groups, you can make your voice heard by contacting the Mayorโs Office directly.

Subject: Demand to Rescind Award to Ramsey Zeid for Antisemitism and Incitement
Dear Mayor Gillingham,
I am writing as a deeply concerned citizen of Winnipeg regarding the recent decision to present the Mayorโs BIZ Award to Ramsey Zeid, owner of Maryland Foodfare and president of the Canadian Palestinian Association of Manitoba (CPAM).
Since receiving this prestigious civic honour, Mr. Zeid has used CPAMโs official social media platforms to share a video that is not only inflammatory but an outright manifesto of hate and a blueprint for violence.
The video, produced by the social media personality โmetamofysis,โ explicitly calls for a violent, coordinated โintifadaโ targeting Jews, Israel, and Canadian institutions. It urges followers to abandon peaceful protest in favour of โnon-peaceful revolutions,โ and instructs them to sabotage city halls, municipal buildings, and the supply chains of corporations allegedly tied to โZionist settler colonial dual nationality invaders.โ The video ends with the chilling ultimatum: โThere is no solution but intifada revolution. Intifada until liberation, or we scorch the earth.โ
The fact that Mr. Zeid, as both CPAM president and a newly recognized civic leader, is amplifying this call for violence and coordinated attacks is alarming and dangerous. His endorsement gives the video credibility and reach, potentially mobilizing his followers and organization members toward real-world acts of disruption, sabotage, and terror, directly targeting Canada and its Jewish community.
This is not a theoretical threat. For many Jews, the word โintifadaโ is synonymous with suicide bombings, shootings, and years of bloodshed. By sharing this video, Mr. Zeid is not only legitimizing but actively encouraging incitement to violence and organized hate.
Honouring an individual who uses his platform to promote such a message sends a dangerous and hurtful signal to Winnipegโs Jewish community and to all residents who value diversity, inclusion, and respect. It undermines the safety and dignity of our community and calls into question the cityโs commitment to justice.
I urge you to immediately rescind this award and to take meaningful steps to ensure that Winnipegโs civic honours never again celebrate individuals who promote hate, incitement, or terror. The Jewish community deserves leadership that stands firmly against antisemitism and protects the dignity and safety of all its members.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response and to seeing Winnipeg uphold its commitment to justice and inclusion.
Sincerely,

This is an outrageous travesty.
I sent the email included above and another of my own.
What is most troubling is that it seems impossible that Zeid’s ugly, violent, and antisemitic activities are not already known by these people, considering his very vocal, long, and storied career as an antisemite.
Inciting hatred and calls for violence based on lies warrants an investigation into hate speech, not granting awards for extremism.
I just wanted people to be aware, if sending anything by email to the mayor’s office, as I did, a very bland response came back to me. They basically said this award was given to Food Fare for their community contributions, etc and do not endorse any views of the recipients. I replied that an award given to a company who expressed the same views on their social media accounts after October 7th is reprehensible in it’s accord. Curious what other people get back in response.
I got the same bland feedback as Michelle . They have discounted what we said about Zeid . Did not even acknowledge the anarchy Zeid stands for
The video is criminal in content. Threatening people who did nothing wrong. He hides his face – it is a mask. Why is he awarded? Because the authorities like what he does? It is time to stop this behavior, these threats and it is time to wake up. Shedding innocent blood is a crime. Incitement to shed blood is a crime. It is the role of our government to protect the rights of all, regardless of religion, color, etc.
When all else fails, contact a good lawyer and sue the mayor for being an accessory to eciting violence toward the Jewish families of Winnipeg. Report the Instagram post to the police citing who posted it and send it to them.
