Hamas Admits: Gaza’s Population Grows Despite War Exposing The Lie Of “Genocide”

Senior Hamas official’s chilling remarks and birth statistics reveal the truth: Gaza’s population is rising, debunking claims of Israeli “ethnic cleansing.”

In a recent interview, Senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri made a chilling admission that should shatter the world’s illusions about the war in Gaza. Dismissing the significance of Palestinian casualties, Abu Zuhri boasted, “Our women’s wombs will produce many more babies; 50,000 were born in Gaza during the war, just like the number of casualties.” He went on to claim that the war is a “dream come true,” and that thanks to the conflict, “Westerners convert to Islam, U.S. students support Palestine liberation ‘from the river to the sea’.”

These statements are not only grotesque in their disregard for human life, they are revelatory. They expose the lie at the heart of the “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing” accusations leveled at Israel. If, as Abu Zuhri claims, 50,000 babies have been born in Gaza during the war, replacing the number of casualties, then the narrative of deliberate population destruction collapses under the weight of Hamas’s own words.

The Numbers Tell the Truth

The claim that Israel is committing genocide or ethnic cleansing in Gaza collapses under the weight of demographic reality and Hamas’s own admissions. The deliberate, systematic destruction of a people defines genocide. Yet, even amid the horrors of war, Gaza’s population remains robust and resilient, hardly the hallmark of a people being wiped out.

Let’s look at the facts:

  • Gaza’s population in 2025 is estimated at over 2.1 million, with a growth rate of 3% annually, ranking 13th globally.
  • Despite the conflict, tens of thousands of babies have been born in Gaza during the war, with senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri himself boasting of 50,000 wartime births, matching or exceeding the number of reported casualties.
  • Even the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, which uses figures provided by Hamas, reports only a 6% population decline since the war began, primarily due to displacement and unverified casualty counts.
  • Gaza’s fertility rate remains among the world’s highest, at over 3.3 children per woman, and nearly 40% of the population is under the age of 15.
  • Gaza’s population has grown dramatically over the decades, from 63,444 in 1950 to more than 2 million today.

In every genuine genocide of the modern era, the Holocaust, Rwanda, and Bosnia, population numbers plummeted, often by a third or more in months or years. In Gaza, even under the most severe conflict, the population decline is marginal and temporary, dwarfed by the region’s extraordinary birth rate and demographic momentum.

The numbers do not lie: Gaza’s population engine continues to run, even under siege. The “genocide” accusation is not just false, it is a blood libel, cynically weaponized to demonize Israel and erase Jewish suffering. The real tragedy is that Hamas’s leaders, who openly brag about replenishing their ranks through childbirth, treat their own people as expendable statistics in a propaganda war.

To call this genocide is to insult the memory of every true genocide victim in history. It is time for the world to reject this slander and confront the real source of Gaza’s suffering: Hamas’s callous disregard for life, both Israeli and Palestinian.

Hamas’s Callousness: Human Shields and Martyrs

Abu Zuhri’s words reveal a deeper tragedy: Hamas’s utter disregard for its own people. To him, Palestinian lives are expendable, easily replaced by the next generation. This is the logic of martyrdom and human shields, not liberation. Hamas’s leaders have long admitted to “leading Palestinians to death,” using civilians as pawns in their war against Israel and then boasting about their ability to “respawn” the dead.

This is not the language of a movement seeking peace or justice. It is the rhetoric of a death cult, willing to sacrifice generation after generation for a political fantasy.

The Real Victims: Ordinary Gazans and Israeli Civilians

The real victims of this war are not the Hamas leaders who hide in tunnels and send out press releases. They are the ‘ordinary’ Gazans, families, children, and elders, caught between a terror regime that exploits them and a world too eager to blame Israel for every tragedy. They are also the Israeli families who live in fear of rockets, kidnappings, and massacres, and who are demonized on the world stage for defending their right to exist.

The World Must See Through the Lies

The facts are clear: there is no genocide in Gaza. There is a brutal war, started by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and sustained by their refusal to release hostages and lay down their arms. There is immense suffering, but it is perpetuated by a terror group that sees its own people as expendable and boasts about their ability to replace the dead with new births.

To accuse Israel of genocide is not only a lie, it is an insult to the memory of real genocides, including the Holocaust. It is time for the world to recognize the truth, defend Israel’s right to self-defense, and demand accountability from those who use their own people as cannon fodder.
