Lacey, Washington – In a coordinated operation involving the FBI, the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), and the Thurston County Sheriffโ€™s Office, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant Monday night at a residence in Lacey, Washington, near Olympia. The raid uncovered a massive cache of military-grade weaponry and armor, including an MG42 machine gun, grenade launchers, explosives, and ballistic helmets, alongside Nazi paraphernalia such as flags emblazoned with swastikas and pro-Nazi literature.

Sheriff Derek Sanders revealed that the investigation stemmed from a violent robbery and theft of military equipment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord on the preceding Sunday. Two men, identified as former military members, were arrested and charged with firearms-related offenses and are under federal investigation for robbery, assault, and theft of government property.

According to the criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Tacoma, the suspects assaulted a soldier with a hammer during the theft of military gear, which they admitted to stealing over the past two years to sell or trade. Authorities also found approximately $24,000 in cash at the suspectsโ€™ home.

The arsenal seized included 35 firearms, with multiple rifles strategically staged at windows throughout the residence, short-barrel rifles, and the historically significant MG42 machine gun, a weapon used by German forces during World War II. The presence of Nazi paraphernalia throughout the home underscores the suspectsโ€™ active involvement in white nationalist and neo-Nazi extremist circles.

Sheriff Sanders emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, โ€œThe suspects identified in this case were actively involved in Nazi White Nationalist efforts.โ€ Despite defense requests for low bail, the court set bail at $500,000 for each individual, reflecting the severity of the offenses and the threat posed to public safety.

This case highlights the ongoing threat posed by domestic extremist groups who not only espouse hateful ideologies but also seek to arm themselves with dangerous weaponry, including military-grade arms stolen from U.S. bases. The FBI and Army CID continue to investigate, with additional federal charges expected as the case develops.

The arrests serve as a stark reminder of the persistent danger posed by white supremacist networks and the importance of vigilant law enforcement cooperation to disrupt their activities before they can carry out violent acts.
