LOS ANGELES – Let’s Do Something on Campus, an initiative dedicated to fostering critical thinking and awareness on university campuses, teamed up with acclaimed American singer, social-media creator, and activist Montana Tucker to release a powerful undercover video on Monday highlighting moral inconsistencies and misinformation surrounding the Israel-Hamas conflict.
In less than 24 hours, the video has received nearly half a million views and thousands of comments, likes, and shares.
Filmed on October 17, at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) campus just days after the Israel-Hamas ceasefire was announced, the short-form video captures unfiltered student reactions to graphic footage of violence.
Posing as pro-Palestinian activists, the team presented the footage to participants, telling them it depicted Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) actions against Palestinians, which elicited strong outrage and condemnation from nearly all involved. However, when the truth was revealed—that the footage actually showed Hamas executing its own civilians—the responses shifted dramatically to silence, disbelief, and discomfort.
This social experiment underscores the pervasive influence of framing and misinformation on student opinions, revealing selective outrage and double standards in discussions about the conflict. By juxtaposing the initial false narrative with the factual reality, the video aims to spotlight Hamas’s ongoing crimes against civilians, even in the post-ceasefire era, and encourage more informed and balanced dialogue on campuses.
Tucker, whose platforms boast over 10 million followers, collaborated with Let’s Do Something on Campus to amplify the message.
“This experiment isn’t about taking sides—it’s about exposing how easily perceptions can be manipulated and urging people to seek the full truth,” said Baruch “Bucky” Apisdorf, CEO and Founder of Let’s Do Something on Campus. “Campuses should be places of open inquiry, not echo chambers fueled by incomplete information.”
The video was posted on Monday, October 20, at 1 PM EST, across LDS and Tucker’s TikTok and Instagram accounts.
