Two Paths For Israel: Evangelical Visions Of Protection, Autonomy, And Prophecy

From U.S.-led security blocs to Eurasian partnerships, Israel’s future is framed as both geopolitics and prophecy for American evangelical Zionists.

HAIFA — The Dor Moriah Think Tank’s Haifa Framework project identifies two competing visions for Israel’s future, visions that are not only strategic but, for many American evangelical Zionists, deeply eschatological in nature. These scenarios reflect both geopolitical calculations and prophetic expectations, raising a critical question: will Israel act as a sovereign agent, or become a tool in the designs of others?

At the center of this debate are two rival security models: one leaning on Western-led coordination with regional mediators, the other oriented toward a looser Eurasian orbit focused on trade, technology, and partnership. For evangelical Zionists, a struggle in the Middle East is read not just as geopolitics but as prophecy.

NAAB: Protection as Control

The North Atlantic Abrahamic Bloc (NAAB) fuses U.S.–U.K. power, Turkish neo-Ottoman ambitions, Qatari financing, and Muslim Brotherhood influence, drawing Israel into external management under the guise of “security.” Key developments illustrate this dynamic:

  • Sept 29, 2025: Israel’s Prime Minister apologized to Qatar from the White House, with a Qatari official overseeing adherence to the agreement. Israel’s finance minister called it “a Munich-level disgrace.”
  • An American–British command cell in Gaza (200+ staff; UK two-star deputy) monitors Israeli operations in real time, wielding de facto veto power.
  • Official Gaza “guarantors,” USA, Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, include states backing the Muslim Brotherhood and regarded by Riyadh and Abu Dhabi as existential threats.

For many evangelical Zionists, these arrangements are seen as “protection.” In practice, however, they limit Israel’s sovereignty and normalize cooperation with sponsors of its adversaries.

The Eschatological Paradox

U.S. dispensationalists often cast America as a “new Israel,” Trump as a modern Cyrus, and NAAB as God’s tool to shield Israel. In contrast, EARC, via BRICS links with Russia, China, and Iran, is read as the “kings from the East,” Gog and Magog. The danger is clear: Israel risks becoming an object of prophecy rather than a subject of history.

A Biblical Lens

Revelation’s Babylon promises order but enslaves; Jeremiah warns against those who cry “peace” where none exists. NAAB merges military and religious machinery, erodes Israel’s strategic and spiritual autonomy, and integrates it into a global control grid. The question emerges: is this the Israel of the Covenant, or of Babylon?

EARC: An Alternate Path

The Eurasian Abrahamic Regional Cluster (EARC) offers a contrasting vision: Israel remains strategically autonomous, serving as a technological bridge among civilizations, maintaining peer relations with Gulf states and Egypt, and potentially opening indirect dialogue with Iran via Oman. BRICS participation treats Israel as a partner, not a vassal.

Through EARC, Abrahamic faiths engage via development rather than coercion. Gulf monarchies gain resilience not from U.S. military bases but from integration and multilateral guarantees. Evangelical readers may see “armies from the East,” yet perhaps the prophetic map is inverted.

Flipping the Map: Three Tests

  1. Promises of Peace vs. Outcomes
    • NAAB stabilizes Gaza while legitimizing Turkey and Qatar, creating fertile ground for an Arab Spring 2.0.
    • EARC emphasizes economy, technology, and Abrahamic finance, prioritizing prosperity over militarization.
  2. Agency of Israel
    • NAAB constrains Israel’s freedom of action, compelling deference to sponsors of its foes.
    • EARC treats Israel as a sovereign actor with its own agenda.
  3. Where the Spirit Is (2 Cor. 3:17)
    • NAAB → external control.
    • EARC → self-determination.

Turkey’s Role

Ankara frames a civilizational sphere across former Ottoman lands. Turkish deployments stretch from Syria to Libya, Qatar, Somalia, Iraq, and now Gaza. In June 2025, Erdogan voiced optimism for Iran’s victory at the OIC summit. Does Ankara act as an ally, or as the Danielic “king of the North” arriving “like a whirlwind”?

Conclusion

Armageddon may serve as a warning, not a script to enact. When “protection” locks Israel into dependence and fuels region-wide destabilization, it risks creating the very catastrophe it claims to prevent.

NAAB treats Armageddon as inevitable; EARC reopens the Covenant through cooperation. Israel must choose sovereignty over tutelage; Gulf states must choose integration over coups-by-proxy; Christian Zionists must decide whether they defend Covenant freedom, or unwittingly serve a new Babylon.
