WINNIPEG โ Canada likes to think of itself as fair, principled, and morally serious. But no serious country behaves like this. What we are witnessing is not a series of isolated decisions; it is a coordinated pattern of ideological capture sweeping across our institutions, one that elevates anti-Israel narratives while erasing Jewish history, Jewish trauma, and Jewish rights.
This isnโt compassion.
This is complicity.
A Pattern Too Blatant to Ignore
Start with the federal governmentโs reckless recognition of a Palestinian state, a state that does not exist, has no borders, no functioning government, and whose leading faction, Hamas, openly seeks Israelโs annihilation. Recognition was not a peace move; it was a political appeasement of the activist left and a betrayal of Canadaโs traditional role as a principled, evidence-based actor.
Then came the performative symbolism: Palestinian flags raised over city halls and civic spaces. To many Jewish Canadians, these arenโt harmless gestures; they are celebrations of a narrative that denies Jewish indigeneity, excuses terrorism, and paints Israel as uniquely illegitimate. Symbols matter. And Canadaโs symbols have turned against its Jewish citizens.
Our Institutions Are Being Hijacked
Next came the so-called โPeopleโs Tribunal,โ an antisemitic kangaroo court dressed up as activism, held in and around the Canadian Senate. A forum built to uphold Canadaโs democratic integrity was instead turned into a stage for libel against Israel and the Jewish people. That this occurred with the blessing or negligence of elected officials should alarm every Canadian who cares about institutional integrity.
The assault on truth doesnโt stop there. Manitoba, after finally introducing mandatory Holocaust education, is now facing efforts to water it down by stripping out the IHRA definition of antisemitism. This very tool identifies the modern forms of anti-Jewish hatred exploding across Canada. What good is Holocaust education if students arenโt taught how antisemitism actually manifests today?
And then there are the cultural spaces.
A biased Nakba-focused exhibit is planned for January at the Mennonite University College.
Another is being advanced at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. The national institution that should be above propaganda, yet appears ready to legitimize a one-sided political narrative while downplaying or excluding the Jewish story of 1948: the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Arab countries, the siege of Jerusalem, the obliteration of Jewish communities, and the thousands of Jews killed, lynched, or driven from their homes.
This is not neutrality. This is activism masquerading as education.
Meanwhile, Real Threats Grow โ and Canada Looks Away
Here is the part no one in government wants to talk about: Canadian intelligence has identified at least 450 Hamas-linked operatives moving in and out of Canada, some holding high-profile roles.
Four hundred and fifty.
From a terrorist organization that butchered 1,200 Israelis on October 7, raped women, murdered children, burned families alive, and dragged hostages, including Canadians, into Gaza.
Instead of focusing on this threat, Canada is busy hosting anti-Israel โtribunals,โ raising PLO flags, and congratulating itself for recognizing a phantom state. Canada is not just asleep at the wheel; it is steering itself into danger with its eyes wide open.

This Is Bigger Than an Exhibit โ Itโs a National Red Flag
The CMHR Nakba exhibit is not the core problem. It is merely the latest expression of a broader ideological drift: the normalization of anti-Israel narratives, the sanitization of terrorism, and the sidelining of Jewish voices in public life.
When every institution, museum, university, legislature, and ministry begins telling the same one-sided story, Canada stops being a neutral arbiter. It becomes a participant in the delegitimization of Israel and the marginalization of its Jewish citizens.
And letโs be clear: delegitimizing Israel is not criticism.
It is antisemitism, repackaged for polite society.
Canada Must Choose a Side โ Moral Clarity or Moral Collapse
A country that stands for human rights cannot embrace a movement whose chants call for Israelโs destruction.
A country that claims to fight hatred cannot dilute Holocaust education to appease activists.
A country that claims to be safe and inclusive cannot ignore the presence of hundreds of Hamas-connected individuals operating inside its borders.
The solution is not complicated:
- Our museums must return to historical accuracy, not political activism.
- Our Senate must never again legitimize antisemitic tribunals.
- Our schools must adopt IHRA without apology.
- Our cities must stop raising flags that celebrate the erasure of Jewish history.
- Our government must confront, not ignore, Islamist extremism operating on Canadian soil.
And above all, we must reaffirm, loudly and without hesitation, that Israel is the democratic homeland of the Jewish people, a nation rooted in Indigenous identity, built in self-defense, and defended daily against genocidal threats.
The Time for Polite Discomfort Is Over
Canada is drifting toward a place where anti-Israel ideology is not just tolerated, it is institutionalized. This is how societies lose their moral compass.
If Canada wants to remain a country of justice, decency, and truth, it must wake up, right now, and confront the ideological capture hollowing out its institutions.
Because when a nation abandons Israel, the worldโs only Jewish state, a thriving democracy, and the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people, it does not just betray Israel.
It betrays its own values.
And it betrays its Jewish citizens who are watching, who are worried, and who deserve better from the country they call home.
